Snapchat is one of the most downloaded apps on the Google and Apple play stores. The developers regularly update the app with new features, including filters, privacy features and a lot more. What’s great about the app is its privacy features. Images are viewable only for a short period. Users are notified if anyone takes a screenshot.
However, snapchat is not for everyone. I personally do not see much use for it. Hence, I tried deleting my account. Needless to say, the process can be frustrating. Therefore, I have come up with a guide on how to delete your snapchat account. Follow these steps to avoid any hassles.
How to Delete a Snapchat Account on PC
Step 1: To delete your Snapchat account on a PC, just login to the official Snapchat website. If you are unable to find it, just click here.
Step 2: Enter your login credentials.
Step 3: You will find different settings on the screen. Scroll down to ‘Delete My Account’ and click on it.
Step 4: Re-enter your password & click on ‘CONTINUE’.
The account has been deleted. You will get a notification as shown below.
If you do not login within 30 days, the account will be permanently deleted.
How to Delete Snapchat Account on Android and iOS?
Step 1: Open your Snapchat application on your smartphone. Please note that the process is same for Android and iOS.
Step 2: Login to your account. Make sure to use correct credentials.
Step 3: If you have enabled two-factor authentication, you will need to enter the OTP.
Once logged in, give the necessary permissions to use the app.
Step 4: Click on the avatar. This avatar is on the top left corner of the screen.
A new screen will appear.
Step 5: Click on the settings icon on the top right corner of the screen.
Another window will open when you tap on ‘Settings’ icon.
Step 6: Scroll Down. Locate the ‘Support’ Heading. Tap on ‘I Need Help’.
Tapping on this will take you to Snapchat’s Support Page.
Step 7: Scroll down to find the “My Account & Security” option. Tap on it.
Step 8: Tap on “Account Security”. A new menu will open up.
Step 9: Tap on ‘Delete my Account’
A new menu will appear. Read through the content to get an idea about everything. If you are encountering an issue and do not want to delete the account, just contact Snapchat Support. If you plan on deleting the account, follow the next step.
Step 10: Tap on ‘accounts portal’.
Now, follow the onscreen instructions.
Step 11: Re-enter your password & tap on ‘Continue’. Your account will be permanently deleted after 30 days if you do not login again within 30 days.
